Nursery Rhymes – Kids Songs Baby songs “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” – Kids Nursery Rhymes In English
“Old MacDonald Had a Farm” is a famous nursery rhyme and kids song about a farmer named MacDonald and his various animals. It was first recorded in the USA.
The older version of this song was discovered in 1908 in England. The song was sung by an old lady named Mrs. Goodey and was published in Cecil Sharp’s Collection of English Folk Songs.
There are dozens of versions of this nursery rhyme according to various languages, but it is sung in the same original tune. One was “Old Missouri” sung by Mr. H.F Walker in 1922.
This version includes seven species of animals: some dogs (bow-bow), some hens (cluck-cluck), some ducks (quack-quack), some cows (moo-moo) some pigs (grunt-grunt), some cats (meow-meow) and a donkey (hee-haw). Below we are using a cow, and you can choose any other animal you want to teach your kids.
