Donald Trump Is Not Reopening The Economy Until The Virus Contains

Donald Trump said on Friday that he is not looking forward to opening the businesses any time soon, as the corona virus threat has not been contained in the United States.

“We’re looking at a date, we hope we’ll be able to fulfill a certain date, but we’re not doing anything until we know this country is going to be healthy,” Trump said at his White House Briefing. “We don’t want to go back and start doing it over again, even though it would be on a smaller scale.”

Donald Trump also said that he is soon to launch an “Opening our Country Council” which will include all the major doctors, business leaders, and even the governors to come to an agreement over the future course of action.

“I’ve gained great respect for governors, both Republican and Democrat. I’ve actually become friends with some of the Democrat governors that I wouldn’t have really had the privilege of getting to know,” Trump said.

Trump said that he will announce the said council on Tuesday and is looking forward to interacting with experts in the respective field to get an idea of reopening the economy. Interestingly, the number of cases of the virus in the US has exceeded any other nation already.

“I don’t know that I’ve had a bigger decision, but I’m going to surround myself with the greatest minds, not only the greatest minds, but the greatest minds in numerous different businesses, including the business of politics and reason, and we’re going to make a decision,” Trump said, adding that, “Hopefully it’s going to be the right decision.”

Trump also said that he wants the economy to reopen as badly as everyone else but that would undo everything that has been done till now for preventing the virus spread.

“I want to get it open as soon as possible. This country was meant to be open and vibrant…” Trump said. “I would love to open, I’m not determined to anything. The facts will determine what I do, but we do want to get the country open.”

Over the course of the past few weeks, the US Stock Market has been plunging rapidly and many economists have predicted that a recession worse than 2008 has already begun.
