“Anyone Who Has Recently Left From New York Should Stay Under Self-Quarantine,” Says The Public Health Experts From White House
On Tuesday, the coordinator of the coronavirus from The White House said that anyone who left New York recently should follow a proper self-quarantine lifestyle for almost 14 days so that we all can contribute to slow down the rapid spread of deadly coronavirus in the United States.
During the White House press conversation, Dr. Deborah Birx stated that. “To everyone who has left New York over the last few days, because of the rate of the number of cases, you may have been exposed before you left New York. Everybody who was in New York should be self-quarantining for the next 14 days to ensure that the virus doesn’t spread to others.”
Dr. Birx also added that “No matter where they have gone, whether it’s Florida or North Carolina or out to the far reaches of Long Island.”
With so many virus-positive cases, New York is one of the epicenters of COVID-19 cases in the United States. Dr. Deborah Birx provided the data of positive cases that are about more than 51,000 COVID-19 infected cases reported throughout the nation by the afternoon of Tuesday – in which half of the infected people live in New York.
On Monday, the Mayor Bill de Blasio talked with the CNN reporters, said that, as the consequences of the virus, hospitals of the New York City could only help few as the cases were increased in this week and they reach the point where they cannot be able to save the infected people due to the shortage of necessary equipment to treat the coronavirus affected people.
De Blasio, surprisingly stated to the reporters, “It’s shocking to have to say this. Even just a few days ago, I thought we could get safely into April. It’s moving so fast right now that I can’t even say that anymore.”
Dr. Birx also stated that “about 56% of all the cases in the United States are coming out of that metro area and 60% of all the new cases are coming out of the metro New York area and 31% of the people succumbing to this disease.”
She further added that “It means because they are still at the 31% mortality compared to the other regions of the country, that we can have a huge impact if we unite together. This means that, as in all places, they have to be following the presidential guidelines … and this will be critical.”
Last week the White House issued some guidelines that urge the people of America to avoid the grouping of more than 10 people and advised older age people to stay at home so that they can all together fight against the coronavirus outbreak in their country. Government Official said these guidelines would remain the same for the 15 days in the hope of slowing down the spread of the virus.
