Things To Avoid When Coronavirus Lock Down Ends

When will the stay at home, coronavirus quarantine orders end? The questions have crossed millions of minds across the world who have to stay indoors to stop the spread of COVID-19. People are getting restless imagining about parties, travel, and hanging out with friends.

Not so fast. As the initial signs of easing the lockdown have started to play around, but there is so much that we still do not know about the behavior of coronavirus strain in the long term.

Every government will have its own rules for getting the businesses started and taking an approach to relax the measures slowly and still keep an eye out for any new spikes in Coronavirus cases.

Your lifestyle is no way going to return to normal state anytime soon. We don’t know for certain what will and will not be allowed to do until the measure is allowed. But there are some common sense codes that we need to follow even after the lockdown ends.

  • Do not hit the bars or throw a party– Social distancing is made mandatory for a reason which is to slow down the spread of coronavirus transmission from coming in close contact with people. Hosting a party or crowding the bars as soon as they reopen will bring so many people together in close proximity. This will give the virus an asymptomatic host and a prime opportunity to start infecting people again.

“I will just remind the American people again. This is a highly contagious virus. Social gatherings, coming together, is always a chance that an asymptomatic person can spread the virus unknowingly … But for all of you that are out there that would like to join together and just have that dinner party for 20 — don’t do it yet.” Dr. Deborah Birx, coronavirus response coordinator in the White House

  • Don’t stop washing your hands– it is obvious that you will continue to practice common hygiene, however, remember that relaxing the restriction does not mean there is no chance of coronavirus outbreak again after the vaccine has arrived. There are economic reasons behind reopening businesses and schools while the virus is spreading but at a slower rate than today. The main goal of reminding you to wash your g=hand regularly and stay at home was to minimize the risk of acquiring COVID-19. Good handwashing habits should stick around even after everything goes back to normal.
  • Do not visit high-risk people immediately – we all want to give a big hug to the senior citizens, but this will not be the best decision for them. You might end up risking their lives. Quarantine measure will start to loose before the vaccine arrive that will help protect the people who are more at risk of acquiring COVID-19. Though vaccine testing is still underway and we still have a year-long time before the vaccine comes out. This does not mean you won’t get to see your loved one for a whole year. Antibody testing would be able to tell if you have been exposed to the coronavirus before. The best way to keep the high-risk group healthy is to maintain distance.
  • Don’t plan a big international vacation– we all have started making a mental list of places we will travel after everything goes back to normal. Even though the airfare and hotel prices will be very low until nonessential trips become acceptable again, you should avoid going on holiday for a long time. International movement of people is what made this extreme rise in pandemic proportion so fast, through person to person transmissions like sneezing and coughing. If this way to reoccur again, the last thing that you would want is to be stuck in a foreign land quarantined without any clear way home.
